Short-Term Missions

DATE: JULY 6 – JULY 16, 2012

PLACE:     Ghioric, Romania
COST: $1600 (approx.)

HBC York Region will be heading to, Romania to partner with our Metanoia church plant in serving through a children’s park landscaping project, and as well we will be coordinating a children’s evangelistic camp, inviting children from the town and surrounding gypsy/rural communities. This will be an exciting time for us to share Christ and to invest in the lives of both the children and the Romanian leaders who have been faithfully serving throughout the year.  It is a rural church that is about 45 minutes away from Arad, Romania, which is where Cristian Barbosu’s church is.  It’s in a city called Ghioroc.  You would be able to experience both the bigger city of Arad and visit Cristian’s church and the work project would be in a small rural church area 45 minutes away, so it’s a great way to get a full experience of what Romania is like.

Marcel and his family have been very involved in leadership at Harvest Metanoia Arad. They live in a village outside of Arad called Ghioroc. It has been their desire to see God raise up a worshiping body in Ghioroc that would be bold in proclaiming the Word of God and giving testimony to the Lord Jesus. Through their faithful and enduring commitment to this village and a small group of believers, God has blessed this body with growth and vitality.
Marcel served as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, pastor assistant and missionary while professionally he worked as an engineer. In May 2010, he left his professional career and accepted the invitation to be full-time in vocational ministry as Senior Pastor of Harvest Metanoia Ghioroc.

At the first training session, a trip deposit of $350 is due for each participant.

Each participant will be supplied with a support raising packet to include: support letters, envelopes, response cards, and return envelopes.

It is required that each participant send 40 support letters.

At two (2) weeks from departure, the team should have 90% of their total support needs met.
